Reynolds, Jr., 86, of Lexington, NC, passed away on Maat home surrounded by his family after a lengthy illness. Among his many pursuits, he was an instructor and award winning master wood carver (specializing in birds), and a member of the Colorado Carvers Club. ![]() He was a WWII veteran, serving in the Merchant Marine after graduating from USMMA and as a Lieutenant (junior grade) in the U.S. Prior to that he had worked for the California Department of Fish and Wildlife. Earlier in his career, he worked for the Colorado Game and Fish Department as the SE Colorado Regional Game Manager, and as a wildlife biologist doing research on lungworm infections in Bighorn sheep. Fish and Wildlife Service, retiring in 1980. Pillmore was a research biologist for the U.S. Pillmore and her husband James Huyvaert step-daughter Karen Klein and her husband Richard Klein, and their sons David Peter Klein and Jonathan Garrett Klein, and their families. Pillmore and his wife Andree DuPont daughter Cynthia K. His brothers, George, Donald, and Charles also predeceased him. He remarried in 1986 to Dorothy Erna Beetle, who passed on March 13, 2005. In 1944, he married Barbara Gail Crain, who passed away Nov. Pillmore, 99, a resident of Fort Collins, CO, died on April 12, 2021. Custin was still serving as Master on tankers as late as 1997. He was honored to serve as Master on the SS Williamsburg, the second of three VLCC tankers constructed at the Brooklyn Navy Yard for SeaTrain Lines in 1974. ![]() Custin served on the convoys during WWII as Third Mate and later in his career rose to Ship’s Master. He would have been 99 years of age in May. Custin, 98, passed away at his home in Queens, NY on April 18, 2021. He will be missed by all whom he touched. He was a well-respected Captain and well-loved human being. He was Captain of the last C-3 cargo ship, American Condor. He served during WWII, the Korean War, and Vietnam War, and continued in the Merchant Marine during peacetime until retirement in 1985. He served in the Merchant Marine for over 40 years and as a Captain for many of those years. Aginso Valentino passed away on April 14, 2021.
